Question Conjure Elements - the differences?

hey I've been playing around with using different Conjure Element spells on my R/E, but haven't really found much difference between whether I use Conjure Fire, Conjure Frost or Conjure Lightning; quite likely because it's so arbitrary to see any differences.

Besides the fact that some armors reduce the damage taken from specific elements, are there any other advantages/disadvantages that the different Conjure Element spells have to each other?

For example, does Conjure Lightning feature the 25% armour penetration that so many of the other Air Magic skills bear?

Any help is appreciated help

Do you have a bow that already deals elemental damage? For example, using Conjure Lightning has no effect if your bow does fire damage.

I currently use a bow with a Shocking Bowstring applied to it, but I have other bowstrings in stock that i can interchange them with at any time.

Setting my current gear aside, I'd still like to know which is most beneficial so I can work towards that goal of Perfection

There's no difference apart from the type of damage.

For example, conjure frost won't be as effective against a Ranger wearing frostbound (or whatever it is) armour, as say, conjure lightning. Same applies to people wearing drakescale, and the elementalist armours. What you must therefore decide is;

a) Were there are any other skills you're wanting to use with conjure. E.g. glimmering mark? That'll require conjure lightning
b) What most people wear. I rarely see elementalists wearing hydromancer's clothing. (Maybe bits of it, but definately not a full set, seeing as hydromancing seems to be unpopular). I also see more rangers wearing drakescale than frostbound.

Just some things to think about when you're chosing what element you want to use.

Ah ok, thanks Varcon. In that case, I might stick to my Conjure Lightning seeing as even LESS people use studded leather sets, and I like to throw in a few air-nuking spells into the mix when I'm feeling adventurous

Thanks again.

I use Conjure Fire for my R/E for these reasons:
- Fire also has Firestorm and nukes which is very useful in PvE (I seldom PvP)
- It fits my character concept of a Fire Ranger (I use Ignite Arrows alot as well as Immolate from time to time)

I think overall, the choice of element will be based on what your goal is. Are you more interested in PvE or PvP? What type of elemental resistance does your foes normal have? Aside from Conjure, are there any other skills you will like to use in that elemental line?

I use my character for both PvE and PvP, but my goal is to become most adept at PvP battling. I think most people tend to wear the anti-fire armors (both Elementalists and Rangers favour their fire-resilient armors for their looks heh), so perhaps the Fire element wouldn't be so useful for PvP. Though I do like setting people on fire. Mmm.

Currently, I don't use many Elementalist skills though I'm contemplating the combination of Conjure Fire and Mark of Rodgort to set targets alight on each hit. That'd be toasty warm.
